OUR $10 DONOR CAMPAIGN IS BACK!

For the last few years, we have worked to get 1,000 people to donate just $10--our own crowd-funded project without paying fees. That's less than 1% of all New Yorkers, and the $10,000 raised covers 70% of our costs through the end of the fiscal year! We are very frugal at NPTC, and supported by many volunteers and in-kind donations. Yet we do a LOT with very little. Click the link above to find out what's on the boards for the next few months!

RADICAL VOICES: THEN & NOW

ON HER SHOULDERS is thrilled to announce this special event on Monday, April 3rd, from 4:00pm to 7:30pm, at the Kellen Auditorium, The New School. With a presentation by Susan Croft of the Unfinished Histories Project in the UK, and radical theatre panelists Christine Bruno, Susana Cook, Melanie Joseph and Taylor Mac, this is a call to action for creating a NEW Radical Theatre movment in the face of a reactionary authoritarian agenda.

APRIL MINI-FEST OF FULL-LENGTH PLAYS

Get the inside scoop on three new plays from the Women's Work Full-length LAB. From April 17-20, join us for readings of new scripts by Joan Castagnone, Charlotte Colavin, and Teresa Lotz, as well as a reading from the archive of Michele Miller's MOTHER OF GOD! (Princess Grace Foundation Finalist). The Full-length LAB is committed to bringing plays to production quality, and periodic public presentations are a vital part of the process. After each reading, stay for some Libation and a feedback session. Plus, come to the launch of our first ever BOOK on April 18th!

PEOLA'S PASSING AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING

Cynthia Robinson's provocative play PEOLA'S PASSING, created in the Women's Work Short Play LAB back in 2011, remains distressingly relevant six years later. Set in 1964, it was one of two plays that we took to the Festival Alternativo in Bogotá last year, and recently performed at Westchester Community College. The production is easily transportable, and now available for college bookings in the Tri-State area.

MEET THE 2017 SHORT PLAY LAB MEMBERS

We are pleased to announce the 2017 Women's Work Short Play LAB members: six writers selected from among 60 applications, and four directors who will be joining the dramaturgical team. The first meeting is February 12th, and writers will be creating 15-30 minute original scripts, which will be showcased in the WW Short Play Festival, August 7-12, 2017.
