Donate $10 to help support Women’s Work.

We are once again SEEKING 1,000 people to donate just $10 to support the more than 100 artists who contribute to or are served by NPTC's Women's Work project each season.

We are experiencing deeply uncertain times. Political disruption is at a level not seen in generations. A volatile economy threatens all but the most affluent. The very fabric of our cultural, educational and social structures are at risk.

As we grapple with this reality, supporting the Arts may seem like a low priority. But documented studies prove that they become more important than ever as a means to communicate information, foster empathy and understanding, and strengthen the health and well being of individuals and communities.

We recognize that many in the NPTC "Family" will be flooded with requests for donations and, for those inclined to give, might find it difficult to determine where your support will have the greatest impact. We are simply asking 1,000 people to give us only $10 by May 31st, which is the end of our current fiscal year (note: PayPal has a fee of $0.69, while Zelle does not have a fee.) Out of 8 million people in NYC, that's just about one tenth of 1%...a minuscule number but one of great importance to us!

Donations will support Women's Work Artist Fees for our two play development LABs, On Her Shoulders readings, and especially ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, the annual Meganne George Short Play Festival running August 4-9, 2025.

Each year Women's Work develops 10-15 original scripts, in short and long forms, we produce a short play festival and two full-length reading festivals, and we reclaim hundreds of women who wrote plays in the past via On Her Shoulders. The development programs are offered free to writers, the OHS database is free to the whole world, and we mentor at least 20 interns who get the chance to participate in all aspects of Women's Work throughout the year.

Can't afford to donate yourself or want to do more? Then please SHARE this request with a personal note to your networksThis is actually one of the MOST VALUABLE contributions you can make!

Unlike other small theatre companies, we mostly serve people (artists and audiences) who are not in a position to financially support the work. And although that feeds our souls, it doesn't do enough for our bank account! We could not survive without the generosity of friends and fans, and we are enormously grateful for any and all donations that help keep the work going.
