Steal Away will be a part of a two-day festival in recognition of 2024 as “Maryland’s Year of Civil Rights” proclaimed by Governor Wes Moore, marking the 60th anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, as well as commemoration of the annual Harriet Tubman Emancipation Day and International Underground Railroad Month. It will be at the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historic Park in Church Creek, Maryland.
The mission of the G/C Theatre Forum is to engage international theatre women and their allies in networking and activism by facilitating conversation and artistic collaboration on a global basis. We aim to investigate a common language around diversity, inclusion, and cultural and religious pluralism as it applies across cultures, breaking down outmoded assumptions and fostering an open dialogue to enact positive change.
