Since Women's Work began in 1994, 100 playwrights have been in residence.

We have developed 60 original full-length scripts, in whole or in part, and produced 10 of them. Six others were produced elsewhere. We have also developed 80 scripts in the Short Play LAB and produced them in our annual summer festival, which was named by Time Out Magazine as "One of the 10 Best Summer Festivals!"

NPTC-developed full-length scripts have won multiple awards and citations: 4 Latin Alternative Theatre Awards, a NY Innovative Theatre Outstanding Play Award, a Barbour Best Play Award, an OOBR Best Production Award, 2 AUDELCO Awards, a ScreenCraft Stage Play Finalist and Mentorship Winner, 3 HOLA Award Nominations, 2 Barbour Finalists, 2 Princess Grace Finalists, a Bay Area Playwrights Finalist, and an O'Neill Playwright's Conference Semi-Finalist. Many of the short plays have gone on to be included in Festivals around the country, and we have performed one full-length and seven short plays at the Alternative Theatre Festival in Bogotá, Colombia, beginning in 2015.

On Her Shoulders has presented readings of 66 plays by 51 writers, spanning from the 10th Century to 1970. Our free database, 1,000 Years of Women Writing Plays continues to expand. We are currently updating and republishing a book of the same title with biographies and "Play In Context" essays, which will be available to order at our Event.
