(Virtual) Road Trip: Bogotá, Colombia

NPTC returned to Bogotá at the end of June 2020 for its third appearance at the biennial Alternative Theatre Festival, produced by the Colombian Theatre Corporation (CCT). This year, due to COVID-19, our appearance was virtual.  The silver lining is that we are now able to share that performance with the NPTC Family!

In 2016 and 2018 we presented two pieces from the Women's Work Short Play LAB in the Festival. This year we were only able to record one but we look forward to bringing two more in 2022.

Our work has become popular in Bogotá as a vehicle through which local audiences gain insight into how our writers view contemporary U.S. cultural and social issues. And, as expressed to us by CCT's Artistic Director, the legendary Patricia Ariza, these works also model plays by women, which is not the norm in Colombia.

The Sala Seki Sano Theatre space has become our home in Bogotá. To learn more about the Festival and CCT, visit their website:
