Discover The Discovery

Join us on December 5th at 7:00pm for an On Her Shoulders reading!

Complex relationships. Social maneuvering and manipulation. Secrets.

Written by Frances Sheridan in 1763, The Discovery offers biting satirical commentary about love and marriage among the noble class. Sheridan was the mother of Richard Brinsley Sheridan, the famous playwright and politician. His writing was heavily influenced by his mother's work but, as we have "discovered" so often in the On Her Shoulders research, the woman behind the man has received much less attention.

The reading is directed by Malini Singh McDonaldNiranjani Reddi is creating the "Play In Context" essay that situates the script and life of Frances Sheridan within its historical time and place. Tickets will be available starting next week!
